New e-Commerce website wins new business

Overview

“The project has helped us enormously. We have really appreciated the help from our advisor.” Based in Stavely, Pure Lakes manufactures eco-friendly skin care products from natural ingredients that are kind to your skin and the planet.

The challenge

After the owners, Gareth and Claire McKeever reached out to Cumbria Business Growth Hub for support, the Hub brought in the Cumbria Manufacturing Service business advisor to assess the businesses best opportunities for growth and increased productivity.

Following this support, the couple devised a consultancy project, with the Cumbria Manufacturing Service providing 30% grant funding. This would be used to develop a business development strategy, a marketing plan to reach new audiences and a new website.

The solution

Gareth and Claire worked with the appointed consultant to agree and implement new strategies.

Gareth said: “The business development strategy, to ensure we develop our markets carefully and don’t stretch too far, is complete and has enabled us to view the future with greater clarity and focus on the important opportunities.

“The marketing strategy is nearly complete and touched on both packaging and our new website is launching imminently. We are already growing quite significantly with new hotels on board such as Low Wood Bay and the Brimstone in Langdale. That has been a game changer.”
